I am currently a Cyber Security & Privacy Expert at PwC Belgium, mainly focusing at trust electronic services aligned with eIDAS and security aspects of emerging technologies for a multitude of international clients.
Previously I was a Research Associate (post-doc) at the COSIC (COmputer Security and Industrial Cryptography) research group in KU Leuven (Belgium). I completed my PhD in Engineering Science at KU Leuven supervised by Prof. Bart Preneel, with a dissertation entitled “Private Information Sharing in Online Communities” (here), and funded by the FCT Grant SFRH/BD/70311/2010. During my PhD I visited the Sprout research group lead by Prof. Gene Tsudik at UC Irvine, CA (May-Sept 2012), and Prof. Mauro Conti at University of Padua, Italy (May 2013, 2014, and 2015).
Prior to my PhD I received a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol (UK) with a major in cryptography (supervised by Prof. Nigel Smart), and a Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal).
Within COSIC, I was part of the Privacy Technologies and Public Key groups, and involved in several different projects.
